MK24 Midsummer RunFest – Terms & Conditions of Entry
These Terms & Conditions apply to all registered participants taking part in the MK24 Midsummer RunFest (aka. MK24). They are written to clearly explain everyone’s responsibilities and help keep the event safe, fair and enjoyable for everyone.
By entering the event, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. The Event
- The MK24 Midsummer RunFest is organised and hosted by The Redway Runners, a UK Athletics (“UKA”) registered community running club based in Milton Keynes (“Organiser”).
- The MK24 Midsummer RunFest event is held under UKA rules and licensed by The Trail Running Association & The Parks Trust.
- The event includes multiple distances, delivered in line with UK Athletics (UKA) rules and guidance.
- The entry fee is solely for participation in the MK24 Midsummer RunFest event and does not include any services, products or gifts provided by sponsors or exhibitors.
2. Age & Eligibility
- The minimum age for participation is 12 years. There is no upper age limit.
- Participants must meet the minimum age requirement for their chosen distance on the date of the event.
- MK24 is structured in line with UK Athletics (UKA) age restrictions* and guidelines. The UKA guidelines also set limits on how much can be run at one time:

*The Organiser recommends a minimum rest period of one hour between each maximum distance completed for all junior runners.
- Participants must be aged 20 and over to complete an ultra-marathon (defined as 5 x 6.55m laps or more) or a double-marathon (defined as 8 x 6.55m laps or more)
- Participants may be required to provide proof of age. If acceptable ID cannot be provided when requested, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse participation.
3. Participants Under 18
- Participants aged under 18 must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
- A parent or responsible adult (aged 18+) must be present on site for the duration of the junior participant’s involvement, unless otherwise stated by the Organiser.
- Parents/guardians remain responsible for the supervision and behaviour of participants under 18 when they are not actively competing.
4. Entries, Teams & Changes
- All participants must be officially entered and registered before taking part, either as a solo participant or as part of a team.
- Team entries must comply with the team size rules published for the event.
- Any changes to team line-ups must be registered by 8pm on Sunday 14 June 2026.
- Last-minute changes at registration may only be made with prior consent of the Organiser.
- The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant, substituted runner, or participant using an assumed or alternative name.
5. Health, Fitness & Personal Responsibility
- Participants confirm that they are physically fit and adequately prepared for the event.
- MK24 includes running over extended periods and may involve running when tired and during hours of darkness. Participants must understand the associated risks and be confident that they are up to the challenge.
- Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for monitoring their own health during the event.
- Participants are strongly advised to seek medical advice from a qualified health professional – including, but not limited to a GP, physiotherapist etc if they have any concerns about their ability to participate.
- A comprehensive first aid kit and defibrillator will be available at Race HQ, with trained first aiders on duty for the duration of the Event. Participants must report any injuries, no matter how minor, to the registration desk, and use the published emergency contact numbers if a first aider is required out on the course. In the event of a serious or life-threatening emergency, participants should call 999 immediately and then notify Race HQ as soon as possible.
- The Organiser reserves the right to remove any participant from the event if, in their reasonable opinion, it is necessary for medical or safety reasons of the participant, or others at the event.
6. Safety & Liability
- Every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure the safety and security of participants, volunteers and spectators.
- Personal belongings are brought to the event at the participant’s own risk.
- By entering the event, participants agree not to hold the Organiser, Redway Runners, Action4Youth, The Parks Trust, event volunteers or their associates liable for any injury, illness, loss or damage sustained during the event, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
7. Conduct & Event Rules
- Participants must behave in a responsible and respectful manner at all times and follow instructions given by event officials, marshals and/or medical teams.
- Participants are responsible for the conduct and behaviour of any guests that accompany them to the Event.
- Accompanying guests agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they have appropriate footwear, clothing and equipment suitable for the event and expected weather conditions, including running during hours of darkness where applicable.
- The use of a head or chest torch is mandatory for all laps starting between 8pm and 4am and runners will not be allowed to start laps without one.
- Participants must clearly display a valid event running number whilst out running. The participant’s personal details must be detailed on the reverse and include the details of an emergency contact.
- Participants are not permitted to use the following items in the Event whether manually operated, electric or motorised: roller skates, wheelbarrows, wheelchairs, scooters, cycles, hand cycles or any other item that could potentially inhibit the flow or safety of other participants or the general public.
- Unregistered participants are not permitted to enter the start or finish areas and will be asked to leave by event officials.
- Pets are not permitted on the course but are welcome in the Event Village as long as they are well behaved and the owner takes full responsibility for said animal.
- Pets must not be left unaccompanied in the Event Village at any time.
- Pets must not foul anywhere within the Event Village. Owners are responsible for immediately cleaning up after their animal and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Event resources, including medical services, safety support, refreshments and finisher materials are provided solely for registered participants.
- Event entries are personal. If transfers are required, participants must follow the formal transfer process and not swap, sell or give their place to another person, nor allow anyone else to compete using their event number.
- Any participant whose behaviour or actions put themselves or others at risk may be removed from the event.
8. UK Athletics & Anti-Doping
- The event is delivered in accordance with UK Athletics rules.
- By entering, participants agree to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of those rules.
- The UKA Anti-Doping Rules may apply for up to 12 months from the date of entry, whether or not the participant is a UK citizen or resident.
9. Photography, Filming & Media
- Photography, video and audio recording will take place during the event.
- By entering, participants (and parents/guardians of under-18s) consent to the use of images or footage in which they may appear for event promotion, reporting and future marketing by The Redway Runners and/or MK24 Midsummer RunFest, without further consent or renumeration of any kind.
10. Data Protection
- Personal data is collected to administer event entries and participation.
- Data is processed in line with UK GDPR and applicable data protection legislation.
- Personal data will not be shared with third parties except where necessary for event delivery, safety, insurance or legal compliance.
- Redway Runners will collect participants’ personal data to process their entry application and to communicate essential event-related information by email, telephone and/or post. You may opt out of non-essential or promotional communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in emails or by contacting the Organiser directly.
11. Refunds, Transfers & Cancellations
- Entry fees are non-refundable.
- Participants may transfer their entry to another person, subject to Organiser approval and published deadlines.
- Any participant found to have transferred their entry to another individual without the consent of the Organiser, or without following the published process will forfeit participation in the current year and may be prohibited from participating in future events.
12. Event Cancellation or Curtailment (Force Majeure)
- The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone, curtail or alter the event if it cannot take place safely or as planned due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control.
- Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to: extreme weather, natural disaster, public health emergency, terrorism, major incident, government or local authority restrictions, venue closure, or failure of essential services.
- In these circumstances, the Organiser will not be liable for any losses incurred by participants, including travel, accommodation or other associated costs.
- Where possible, the Organiser will seek to offer an alternative arrangement, such as a deferred entry, partial refund, or transfer to a future event, but this cannot be guaranteed.
- The Organiser’s decision in relation to cancellation, postponement or alteration of the event is final.
13. Camping & Event Village Rules
- All campers must follow the rules set out by the Organiser.
- Open fires are not permitted within the Event Village or campsite. Designated BBQ areas are available nearby as directed by the event team.
- Smoking or vaping is not permitted within the campsite, Event Village or Event HQ.
- Noise must be kept to a minimum, particularly between 10pm and 8am.
- Valuables are brought to the campsite at the participant’s own risk.
Camping pitches:
- Pre-booked camping pitches will be available from 6pm on Friday 19 June 2026 and must be vacated by 2pm on Sunday 21 June 2026.
- Tents are not provided and must be of a reasonable size for the pitched reserved.
- No parking is permitted within the campsite (except camper vans by prior agreement), however chargeable parking is available nearby. Vehicles are left at the owner’s risk.
14. Facilities
- Toilet and shower facilities will be available during the event.
- Participants are required to leave the facilities in a good and clean condition.
- Food and drink vendors will operate during designated hours.
- Additional public houses and restaurants are available nearby, subject to their published opening times.
15. Fire Safety
- The risk of fire is low, but all participants must familiarise themselves with the location of fire alarms and extinguishers following arrival at the Event Village.
- In the event of a fire, raise the alarm immediately and follow instructions from event staff.
16. Final Authority
- The Organiser reserves the right to make changes to the event where necessary for safety or operational reasons. This includes the right to amend, shorten or reroute the course, lap length or event format at any time where necessary for safety, access or operational reasons.
- The Organiser’s decision is final in all matters relating to the event.
